How to Prepare for Interviews & How to Face Interviews

HOW TO PREPARE FOR INTERVIEWS 

1. Make thorough preparations.
2. Be well equipped to answer---.
3. Make notes.
4. Remember nobody can learn and recall everything.
5. Work on current topics- national and international. Cover all areas like economy, commerce, science, games and sports, foreign policy, social welfare scheme, simple mathematics, languages, planets, geography, mythology etc. (level & nature of competitions will be deciding factors)
6. Read a newspaper of the day, better if more than one.
7. Know the history of organization/service you want to join.
8. Speak no negative points of your present/old employer.
9. Know the history, demography and geographical status of your place.
10. Wear formal dress and shoes.
11. Know the highest and lowest of your nation.
12. Prepare the answers to-your favourite book, your hobby, your favourite leader, your favourite film, your favourite writer etc.
13. Pay special attention to subjects read at the highest level of education.
14. Face mock interviews conducted by competent persons. 
15. Try to get their videography. 
16. Implement suggestions.
17. Wear a tie in the winter season (no final views).

HOW TO FACE INTERVIEWS

1. Wish the interviewers with a smile.
2. Wait for them/one of them to ask you to take the seat.
3.  Be attentive to the questions to avoid saying -please repeat it.
4. Avoid answering questions in one word.
5. Have eye contact with the member who is asking a question. Also remember to do so when you answer it. Look at others also.
6. In answer to- Introduce yourself; do not be boastful to avoid being in a tight corner.
7. Tell your real achievements and strengths because they may choose the area for further questions from what you speak.
8. If asked to speak on a topic (either given or of your choice), make selection wisely. You must be able to display your knowledge in informative language.
9. Give data, if you have authentic ones.
10. If found answerless, you may say, sir/madam I don’t know it. Please ask me the next question.
11. Do not be crestfallen. Be ready to answer the next question.
12. Be brief and relevant.
13. Do not beat about the bush.
14. Do not argue vehemently.
15. If needed, show disagreement gracefully & politely.
16. Act wisely and smartly to bring the interviewers to a point where they may ask a question desired by you. (Not everybody’s cup of tea & not possible everywhere.)
17. Do not speak difficult language.
18. Speak candidly and audibly.
19. Maintain right posture.
20. Body language and gestures should be appropriate.
21. Keep in mind that interview is not just to test your knowledge but also to assess your personality.
22. Show a positive, holistic and realistic approach.
23. Accept their suggestions happily and readily.
24. Speak objectively on sensitive issues.
25. Do not forget to thank them with a bow (but not too low).
26. Show respect to interviewers for their stature, wisdom, experiences etc.

1. Not sufficient for specialised jobs..
